10/29/2005 Online meeting - (Andy, Michael, Chuck attending)

* We realized that when the provider is complete we would have 3 main areas of focus,

* Making the “embedded mode” work

* Creating providers for other modules

* Providing help and support for DotNetNuke sites running on firebird

* We agreed we would only sign up for stored procedures we can have done in the next 7 days. Otherwise we would remove our names

* We would like to meet again in early December

10/1/2005 Online meeting - (All Core members attending)

  • Look at issues regarding the "embeded mode". Can we just deploy the Firebird assembly and the .Net Firebird driver assembly in the bin directory of the application? Do we need to deploy a assembly to system directory?

8/29/2005 Online meeting - (All Core members attending)

·         We don't have to worry about termination delimiters (SET TERM...) because each procedure is run in a separate call

·         Use --///--- as a delimiter in the update file(s)

·         Sanjay will investigate how to retrieve values from ExecScalar()

·         We will use Chuck's Create_Procedure_GetPortals.sql file to note any style differences we are uncomfortable with.

·         Dividing and conquering the sp's (the actual work remaining) will be done one of three ways, to be determined later:

  • -people sign up for each sp individually (probably too granular)
  • -developers sign up by module (annoucements, events...)
  • -by functionality (add, get, delete)

·         We will populate GUID fields via the provider and remove the not null constraint of such fields.

·         Too-long unique constraints will be handled by indexing the individual fields, and using a trigger to throw an exception.

·         We will use the same inconsistent column types as in the MS SQL schema for CREATEDBYUSER etc.
